It doesn't really explain anything. But it was interesting to me how many "fans" have this tendency to dismiss mental illness at all costs. They try to explain the Beales behavior using words like "misfits", or "staunch character", or "zany", instead of admitting to the probability of these two having mental disorders. By admitting to that would mean that these two women weren't really choosing to live this life, it would mean that the mental illnesses were forcing them to live this life by default or something.

Of course not. I can't say 100% that they are mentally ill just like I can't say 100% that when it gets cloudy that it might rain.
Just look at the person in this video. This person is not a doctor, but is saying another person is not mentall ill. Does that make the person crazy because they don't have a PHD?
Use your head and make an educated guess based on your experiences with mentally ill people and how they act.
I mean when you watch a show like 'Hoarders' do you think those people have no issues because you aren't able to make a professional opinion on them?

rankpines is an actor doing an imitation of little edie. i guess you don't recognize acting when you see it.
your question doesn't make any sense.
The guy is a wierd dragqueen trying to explain why these women aren't mentally ill. He just happends to be expressing this opinion while wearing womens clothing and pretending to be the person. Either way it doesn't matter if he/she is acting or not, the message is the same.
