Alternate version

The DVD of this film contains a different music track at the end of the film as we see the plane fly away and the picture of Waldo.

Why is it different?

This film played on free-to-air tv in Australia last night and I only saw the end and recognized the original music from how I had always seen the film before up until I bought it on DVD.

And now I want the real music back.

Does a version exist with the correct track?

There must be a couple of different versions floating around. I've seen two different ones, one with the opening credits sequence scored with "Waltz For Scooter" and the other with the "Waldo Pepper March". However, I've only seen the ending scored with "When You're Away".

Where did you get the information on the music track titles? If the soundtrack is available I'd love to buy it.

reply

Oh, I've had the soundtrack album since 1975. I don't believe it's ever been released on CD. :-(

P.S. Here's some info on the LP.

Thanks! Now I have to figure a way to get a hold of it!

Sometimes the license to use the music expires. At least that is the explanation I was given when trying to find out why the VHS version of "Blood Simple" contained the song "I'm a Believer" and the theatrical and cable version used "It's the Same Old Song".
