Whatever happened to Susan Deer?

I just noticed that the actress who played Sooner never did any other films. I wonder why that was? Where is she now?

That's nice to know! She was lovely in this movie. Hope to see it again someday. Thank you very much for the update.

Susan Deer was living in Indianapolis, about two hours' drive from Vevay, and auditioned for the role of Sooner almost as a lark. She'd never done any acting before. Filming was done during the summer so none of the kids missed school or had to have a tutor on the set.

You wonder why she never made any other movies? The best reason of all--she couldn't act. Had she shown the chops of a child actor like Emma Watson, she might have had a career as an actress. She didn't, so she didn't.
