Sorry mate but i'm afraid it's you who are mistaken, I own two cuts of the film (the 88min one and the 100+ min one), and this scene is in both.
There's lots of different cuts of the movie though, it's an easy mistake to make, it took me ages to get a copy of the one I wanted
Yes the meathook scene was there, chilled me to the bone even when it was revealed to be a joke.
