Problem of this film

hello,

i really wondered why this film is so underrated (in my opinion) I read the textes here and I find out that there are big problems with the character voices in this film. I watched and enjoyed the german version. In Germany a guy called Rainer Brand is/was responsible for all the dialog-translation. This guy also translated all the Bud Spencer / Terence Hill Films. He does always a very funny job. I don´t know how the charakter sound in other languages like english or french but if you hear the german voices, you would have to laugh if you just hear the voices without pictures from the film. Brand uses in all Spencer / Hill Films a lot of german terms who are very funny and who does halfway not exist *gg* Really funny man, and you don't have to be a underage person to enjoy that. Good Bye.

And the german dubbing is horrible.

I have watched both the German and the English dubbing (and yes, the English version is dubbed, too, since no original sound was ever recorded on the set of any Leone-Western. The Rod-Steiger-dialogues of "Giú la testa" are the only exception).

Some gags in the German dubbing work very well and made me laugh out loud. However, the problem is that all these gags make it hard to follow the actual essence of the dialogue. This is a major flaw, since the plot is unnecessarily complicated already. I watched the English version second and found it less funny, but much easier to follow and understand. All in all, I prefer the English version.

Exactly. My point is also that the movie obviously isn't supposed to be a comedy, which it is in the german version.

But in reality its a decent western with some comic relief.
