"Galileo" now available on DVD

The film version of Bertolt Brecht's play "Galileo" is now available on DVD through Amazon.com. "Galileo" is available (apparently) by itself or in one of three collections of the American Film Theatre movies. The DVD includes a 2003 interview with Topol, who plays the title role, about the film. It has several "extras", mostly just text, about the history and the production of both the play and the film. There also is some basic biographical info on both Galileo and Brecht.
Other outstanding films in the AFT series include "The Man in the Glass Booth", featuring Maximilian Schell's Oscar-nominated performance, and Jean Genet's intense character study "The Maids", starring Glenda Jackson and Susanna York.
