Why call it'French Connection II' instead of 'The French Connection II'

Or "The French Connection, Part II." Good question.

in the first movie the "connection" has already been established most notably when they actually show scenes in marseilles, chaunier is french and a drug smuggler and must be caught!!

no need for "the" in the sequel
