I looked this movie up on here just because of its mention on Mike Nelson's Rifftrax for Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace. They practically read the trivia facts on this page during it. Ha ha ha.

Me too! I only looked this up after Kevin Murphy read the trivia in the tediously long podracing scene.

So they watched for research to create some of the Zany characters in the Podrace.It's a lot like The Wacky Racers.

No, but I had to chuckle a little more than usual as I'm Norwegian and used to watch the film every Christmas as a child.
