ARE YOU KIDDING?

I think that Delon - Tringignant interaction is exactly what holds this film together.
The comment that started the thread, "this movie sucks" lacks any kind of substance. At the very least, I'd give it a thought and try not to appear as a total jerk and explain the reasons why one thinks the movie is so bad.

Anyhow, at a risk of sounding too conventional and mainstream, this film is not a masterpiece, but worth watching, nevertheless. And unlike most policier, it is based on a true story. There is enough going on to hold viewers' attention, unless there is a total deficit of it, which is unfortunately increasingly common.
The ambiguity of some of the cops' morals set within three-four years after liberation is an interesting thing to ponder.
Almost puzzling is Delon's (Borniche's) phrase that some days he wants to become this criminal... There are quite a few twists. Yes, they are not overly explained, take cop-girlfriend relationship, or the "bonding" at the end for example. Thus, for those used to Hollywood productions - well, this may all be slow, frustrating, lacking clear message and most importantly missing this characteristic non-stop action; still not a reason to try to soil this fine production.
Yep, I think Delon smokes more than a pack during the course of this two-hour movie, not a cough in a cartload, didn't bother me.

Agreed. Just watched it. Very enjoyable.
