Plot questions

I remember seeing this years ago but the memories are not distant. I know Jim and Noddy got into a fight at the last gig and they broke up. But what did they fight about?

Also, didn't it seem like a sudden band breakup? Or were there other arguments along the way? I seem to remember that everything was going fine, then one argument, then breakup and end up movie.
