This movie rocks!

I first came across this movie in the 80s as a rental from a video store. I've been hooked ever since. My friends and I know all the lines as the dialogue is classic Waters. I even met John this year and had my pic taken with him AND the Easter Bunny!!
P.S. The DVD has added scenes that the VHS version didn't have. A must have for any collector.

Oh, this movie is totally great. My sister got me hooked on John Waters when I was ... 12? Maybe 13? Not sure ... I hadn't seen Female Trouble in a while until tonight when it was on IFC (IFC > Anything) ... I fell in love with it again!

I saw it on IFC then too. It was so great. When Divine is walking down the street and and stop every minute to pose. Classic.

I have always been partial to the Divine having sex with Divine scene.
Oh, and Christmas morning when she knocks over the tree because she didn't get cha cha heels.
But thats just me.....

Come on people!! this movie was probably the worst movie i've ever seen!!! (Beyond the valley of the dolls a close second) Look im not ignorant. I know that its supposed to be messed up and supposed to be alternitive cinema, but this was almost unwatchable. Dont get me wrong im all for shock value but like i said i hated this movie. If everyone wants to see a perfect film watch Dead Man

I have been a fan of John Waters since I was 15, but i never got around to watching female trouble until recently. all i have to say was that i wasn't disappointed. this movie kept me entertained more than any other movie in recent memory. i think it's replaced desperate living as my favorite. female trouble made me yearn for the dreamland studio days and the classic john waters movies. (not that i was even born yet when most of them came out)it's a great movie.

I seen female trouble on a double feature Dvd set.

I rented pink flamingos and female trouble came with it.

I watched female trouble all the way though in one sitting no problem cause it was funny without having to be as overly graphic as pink flamingos.

I agree. My favorite too.

My favorite line: "I wish you'd turn nelly. I'd be so proud if you was a fag with a nice hairdresser boyfriend, and I wouldn't have to worry" (Aunt Ida). There are lots of lines from this movie that stay in my mind. I have quite a bit of it memorized. I doubt there'll ever be another movie I love this much. That scene just might be the funniest scene ever filmed. I knew a lady who got disgusted and stopped watching just before it, and I told her, "if you could have held on just a couple more minutes, you might like this movie."

I don't understand people who don't "get" John Waters. I'm serious. If I'm friends with someone and they don't find this movie hilarious, I never completely trust them again.

We'll see who's the filthiest person alive! We'll just see!

Yea they most likely wouldnt be my freind in the first place for other resons. Likeing or disliking a film like this tell alot about a person.

I totally agree.

I have always been a fan of John Waters' more recent films(Hairspray, CryBaby, Serial Mom, etc), but it was when I viewed Female Trouble on IFC this past month that I decided that I wanted to see his earlier films. Female Trouble is perverse, it is crude, and it is at times disgusting. However, it has become one of my all time favorite comedies. Divine was divine in this role. I can't wait to see his other earlier works.
