Hey. Here are my picks for the directors whose films make people squirm.

Harmony Korine

David Lynch
John Waters(the early films)
Peter Greenaway
Gaspar Noe
Larry Clark
Ken Russell
Lars Von Trier

There are many more and some deserve to be on this list for just one film or many films.

How about Derek Jarman? Check out Edward II. Some brilliant bits, some bizarre, some visionary, some twisted, some thoroughly icky. Can never make up my mind about this film but the vampire scene, for example, is as twisted as anything I've ever seen.
