Just saw it...

And i thought it was absoultely hilarious. I cracked up in the begining when Dawn didn't get cha cha boots for Christmas and got so mad at her parents. I don't know if it was supposed to be funny, but I thought it was brilliant.

I just saw it too and it was without a doubt the WORST movie I've ever seen! And that is saying something because I've seen "Eraserhead" and "Plan 9 from Outer Space". The characters in "Female Trouble" were stupid, sick, disgusting and unappealing visually or any other way. The dialogue, while being unsuitable for children because of numerous gratuitous F-words and S-words, was trite and unintelligent enough to make it unsuitable for adults. Full pop male and female frontal nudity with primarily unattractive bodies engendered only serious nausea. The direction of this movie makes Ed Wood look like a genius. An incredible waste of time, especially since I watched the whole thing hoping it would improve.

You sound too close minded and too prude to enjoy a John Waters film. I highly dissagree with you and I think this has to be one of his best movies. Did you not get the social commentary on how criminals are just as big of celebs as movie stars? This film isnt even in the same leage as Eraserhead or Plan 9. Eraserhead is a surreal movie exsperience and Plan 9 is bad science fiction. Unlike those movies this diolouge is funny and snappy and the charictors are bizzare and interesting. You seem like you'd rather enjoy a clean family film than a disgusting exercise in bad taste like Female Trouble or Pink Flamingos.Walk into a movie like that with an open mind!

A friend showed me Female Trouble and after that Christmas scene, he asked me 'Are you okay?' It made the movie for me, I was still laughing 10 minutes later!

I don't understand the haters out there. They need to walk away because this movie is fabulous. I will cherish my DVD.

Great movie. Sure, it's low budget with an amateur cast but they give it their all. Divine is wonderful and has great comic timing - not a bad actor at all. Mink Stole is also great as Taffy. The costumes and sets, all done on a shoe-string, are a kick.

"Pink Flamingos" has its moments, but its mainly a lot of vignettes. "Female Trouble" is a real story and has some of the funniest Waters moments ever and, with the exception of a few scenes, doesn't get as gross as "Flamingos."

My favorite John Waters film. I like the scene near the end where Dawn is in prison with her prison lover and one of the Prison Matrons calls them Lez-beans!
I thought that dialogue was hilarous. I also love the Taffy character too she was over the top and so funny.
