Hairspray: The Musical Is a Huge Hit - Female Should be Next!!!

I think John is crazy trying to adapt Cry-Baby, one of his least interesting movies.

It's Female that should be adapted and given the stage musical treatment.

I can see it now: Aunt Ida's Theme as she sings about Gator and how she worries about him. Take the line directly "I worry you'll work in an office..." and turn it into a song!

Chicklette and Concetta and Dawn sing: Just Because Were Pretty Everybody's Jelous!

You get the idea.

This would be a smash!

Serial Mom has potential but A Dirty Shame, no.

I loved Tracy and what it tried to do but I have to admit, it was a failure. It really didn't work.

I saw it months before it was released with John Waters actings at the usher when we walked in and have an autographed poster. I was saddened to admit later that it was one of the least successful of his films.

It's bad enough Hairspray and Crybaby are musicals, leave the early films alone.

It opened on Broadway last month. Run, don't walk, it should close fairly quickly too. It has gotten lurid reviews.
