...imo that makes it more classically "Film-Noir"...also imo it shoulda been originally filmed in B&W...try it...you may agree??

I reallly like the way it was done in sepia. It works great I think but then I AM A BIT PREJUDICE.

I totally disagree. John Alonzo's smoky, dreamy Technicolor photography was one of the best things about this movie. (It was the first American movie photographed on Fuji Film.)

Mr. O'Halloran, Looks like nobody in this thread noticed that you actually starred in the picture as Moose Malloy. It must have been great working with Robert Mitchum, especially in a movie as good as this.
Thought you were great in Superman II as well!
