I bought the LP record years ago. Some pretty amazing ochestrations, and generally pleasant overall. Not a whole lot of original music, but still nice to listen to...

Great score and a fine presentation by Film Score Monthly, too. It's paired on one CD with David Shire's 1988 score for "Monkey Shines." As for FML, I really liked the big band cue for "Mrs. Florian Takes the Full Count." It's a catchy source cue that you will be humming for days!

It's spelled "Definitely."

The recorded score is good, but does not include some of the marvelous minor cues throughout the film. This is a typical complaint of most movie score recordings. David Shire did a brilliant job (maybe his absolute best!), and it's a marvel to listen to it as you watch the film. An inspired job by all participants...!

The score CD is merely the excellent LP recording made in the 1970s, and as far as I can tell, much of the essential music is included. But with film scores, there's always something missing!

It's spelled Definitely.

David Shire did an excellent job and was such a very nice person.

Thanks for your comments Jack. I seem to be blessed with a certain memory for music I have heard, and it "pops into my head" at appropriate moments later. Right now it's David Shire's score for "Farewell My Lovely", which appears during the day at certain critical moments, and brightens up whatever I am doing. He wrote some brilliant, subtle cues for certain key scenes. Great stuff...!

So glad you enjoy it for I to think it was a great score. And I really enjoy it as well but then I really enjoy the film period.

I'd say Shire's best is from the previous year: the original TAKING OF PELHAM 1-2-3.

I love his score. It's appropriately sad, haunting, and nostalgic.
