Ahead of the game

Saw this for the first time this week. It is so ahead of its time in style and editing, quite stunning for 1973.
I really enjoyed it. Intelligent and funny. Anything that mocks the ridiculous art world is fine by me. The characters are all interesting, Welles is as erudite and charismatic as ever and his girlfriend is easy on the eye! Cool soundtrack too. More rewarding with repeated views. What's not to like?

I've given up recommending it to people. Too many put "F for Fake" on in the background while they're doing their taxes or vacuuming or grouting the shower or whatever, and then they complain that the movie made no sense and they couldn't follow it. Having said that, discounting the background noise crowd, this movie still leaves a lot of people behind. I notice new things in it every time I watch it. :)
