I can stand remakes, but judging from the previous works of the director of the remake, I think it's safe to say that I am not interested in seeing it.

Director Fickman to conjure "Witch" redo

Andy Fickman is coming on board to direct "Witch Mountain," Walt Disney Pictures' modern reimagining of its 1975 adventure movie "Escape to Witch Mountain."

The first film was based on a science fiction novel by Alexander Key. It followed a pair of siblings, endowed with paranormal powers, who go on the run from a diabolical group of men who wish to exploit their abilities. The brother and sister turn out to be extraterrestrials.

The movie hatched a 1978 sequel, "Return from Witch Mountain," best remembered for featuring Bette Davis and Christopher Lee in the cast, as well as a TV movie, "Beyond Witch Mountain" (1982), that was to have been a pilot for a series.

Matt Lopez wrote the current draft of the script. Lopez also penned the studio's "Bedtime Stories," which is due to go before cameras in January with Adam Shankman directing Adam Sandler.

Fickman directed Disney's upcoming family comedy "The Game Plan," starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

I am excited for the Remake - the original is one of my favorites - but going back and rewatching it - those special effects aren't so special when you see the string and wires everywhere. As for the director I really loved REEFER MADNESS: THE MUSICAL...and I saw a test screening of THE GAME PLAN and it was hysterical.

It's a sequel starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnston.

Production begins in March 2008

Yeah, it has The Rock, so I have my doubts.

But it also has Anna Sophia Robb from Bridge to Terabithia, and that means I have to see it.

"Where did that come from?"

"I don't know, probably Bear Village."

I actually wasn't looking for it but I just watched "the seeker" and the kid who is staring in it is starring in the remake it's called "The race to witch mountain" though.

Funnily enough I thought of this movie yesterday even though I haven't seen it in eight years. Strange how I came across it today.
