The Book (book spoilers)

I just read the book and I LOVED it! Short and easy to read with some lovely surprises in it. I loved how the brother/sister relationship was portrayed, really realistic. And both Tia and Tony were great. I loved the no-speaking thing. I also loved how Father O'Day was written and the whole trauma thing. Very well done.

What does everyone else think?

And I'm thinking of getting the 2nd book. Is it any good? Does it follow the same story as the movie seqel and are there any more books?

If you get Return from Witch Mountain by Alexander Key, it does follow the plot of the movie with a few hidden surprises added by Key that weren't in the movie. The changes involve Tony's thoughts and feelings while having his body controlled by the baddies, and a bit of fun with Alfred the Goat. Key had to do a bit of work to reconcile the differences in the abilities of the children and the fate of Uncle Bene from original book to movie, but he does a good job. There is another novelization of the movie that was released in the rest of the world, which is just a flat retelling of the events of the second movie.

It's a classic children's book. Absolutely enthralling.
