Yes, it is possible that FINAL DESTINATION gave a tip of the hat to ENCOUNTER WITH THE UNKNOWN in regards to Flight 180. I do not consider FINAL DESTINATION to have ripped this off, however. The movie that FINAL DESTINATION does copy a lot from is SOLE SURVIVOR - www.imdb.com/title/tt0181012/
