Why the new husband?
Part one is set in Thailand, part two in Bangkok, and with a new "husband". Is any explanation ever given for this change?
If not, are the lead characters from parts one and two then not identical?
Yes, they do use a different actor to portray Emmanuelle's husband. Umberto Orsini is a much better looking guy to be sure. Maybe the other actor simply wasn't available. did you notice in "Goodbye Emmanuelle" the third installment, that emmanuelle refers to her husband as an architect?! There he is no longer a diplomat! Strange stuff!
