70s movies were sooooooo slow

I used to love this movie, but when I rewatched it recently, I had to fast-forward through so much!
Okay, so maybe the college scene was a setup to show you a little something about Clint, but man it took forever. Then a scene where Pope comes by to say Dragon wants to talk to you.
Then a scene in Dragon's waiting room.
Then a scene with Dragon talking.
Throughout all of this first half hour, Clint was asked about 47 times to take the Sanction, and he said no each time. Sooooo slow and repetitive.
So then Clint ends up in some guy's office to kill him. Instead of just shooting him in the doorway, Clint politely leaves as requested, then goes outside, climbs a wall, and kills the guy anyway. Another wasted 10 minutes.
Then more conversations with Dragon. Clint says no to the sanction, then...you get the idea.

Maybe it's because you're rewatching it..I never found it slow even watching it a 3rd time or 7th time though.

the most boring part was the climbing the mountain part at the end. i could have watched half of that scene and gotten enough of it.
