Is it just me , or does Paul Newmans voice sound lispy , gruff and slurred in this movie, seems different than his usual voice. It almost sounds like he had a tooth pulled or something. i Dunno, just sounds different than usual to me.

newmans voice got all raspy around this time. Slapshot it was even worse. By the Hudsucker Proxy it was almost comical how gravely it got. I guess the ten years since we had left off with Harper were rough to him.
I think he was less of a wise cracker and a bit more beaten down.
