Why is this movie never shown on tv (including movie channels)

I saw this years ago, when it first came out. But within the past year saw Harper and was wanting to watch this one now that I've seen the first one. It never seems to run on tv. Why?

reply

It's showing on Turner Classic Movies Channel on 8/16/2011.

reply

Yup, came across it today on TCM. I've never seen Harper before, but am very impressed with the Drowning Pool. I could not take my eyes off this movie. Though now I'm uncertain as to see Harper as it was filmed almost a decade earlier, and from what I've read on this board I may be disappointing.

reply

I gave up and just bought it from iTunes. Of course they would show it within a week after I bought it <grin>.

reply

There is nothing disappointing about Harper, it's a great film

reply

Watching it now on GRIT/GritTV right now. Although it's been a few years now since the OP.

reply

They would have to edit it to air it. Watch it in its original form.

reply

Because its a boring movie.

I have the same question. I actually got to see when some of the movie was being filmed in Lake Charles, LA. I got Tony Franciosa's autograph and ironically saw him in another movie with Raquel Welch on TV just a couple of days ago. I haven't seen it in years, but would love to see it on TV again.

How is that "ironic"?

Would that Franciosa and Welch picture be Fathom?

Yeah, it sure was. I had never even heard of that movie, but I really liked it.

As has been said, it's on Turner Classic Movies (TCM) in the States. It's in high definition, and it looks GREAT! Gordon Willis' cinematography is beautifully presented.

What's funny is, years ago, before TCM, this film seemed, to me anyway, like it was ALWAYS on TV. Nowadays TCM shows Harper a lot, last night was first time I remember them showing The Drowning Pool (although I'm sure they had).
