Why Didn't Sonny Get Someone From The Crowd To Drive The Limo?

Driving the limo would have been easy for anyone since there would be a police escort the whole way. The planted driver or the agent who replaced him should have been seen by Sonny as way too dangerous.

Of course, he was exhausted after the long day and probably not thinking things clearly.

I'm sure Sonny wasn't thinking that clearly either but as he said when he told the cop/driver to "get out cop"! and when he took Agent Murphy instead, "At least I'll know who I'm dealing with". If he had taken somebody out in the crowd, who knows how that person would've been like? That's how I see it anyway.

Or, I was thinking, why not just have one of the hostages drive? At least they somewhat trusted each other by then.
