What Did the Actors Who Played Doc's Crew Do After 'TMOB'?

'Sons of Anarchy' is one of my all-time favorite t.v. shows, but I'd been watching for several years before I made the connection between "Bill Lucking", who played Renny in TMOB, and William Lucking, who played Piney, the grumpy, usually drunk old biker who carried around an oxygen bottle in that show.

I was talking to a couple of fellow Doc fans at DocCon in 2017 about this, and they'd never seen 'SOA', but as soon as I said "William Lucking", their faces lit up. "Oh...Renny!"

Before 'Doc', Lucking had been active on the screen for about ten years, appearing in minor roles in shows like Ironside, Mission: Impossible, The Virginian, Bonanza, Lancer, Kung Fu, and Mannix, and in a few movies like 'Harold and Maude' and 'The Magnificent Seven Ride'.

Post-Doc, he continued to appear on t.v. shows like Police Woman and The Rockford Files, and in movies like 'The Return of a Man Called Horse'. He appeared in 'The Mountain Men' (fun picture) with Charlton Heston and Brian Keith. He played the Army recruiter who signs up Bill Murray and Harold Ramis in 'Stripes'.

Now nearly 80, he appears to be retired from the screen, his last film credit being a couple of episodes of 'Murder in the First' in 2014.
