Even Pal's trademark visual effects and matte paintings were mediocre, with the depiction of the Green Death as animated serpentine vapors being particularly unconvincing (see image at right).

So, this is the movie that has the glowing green animated snakes in it? I have remembered the snakes vividly for 30 years now, but nobody I knew remembered it as well. I was beginning to think I had dreamed it until I watched the trailer for this film and there it was! Who knew that it was a Doc Savage flick? Funny, I have no memory of anything other than the snakes, the natives, and the group of people trapped in a cave with the animated glowing green snakes. Haha, I am glad I am not crazy after all!

This has haunted me over the years too. I'm nearing 40 years of age now and I could not remember where I saw these damn things. Left me scarred and scared of death that can pass through walls. You are not alone my good friend.

Those snakes, The Green Death, were rather frightening as a child and most certainly stayed with me for all of these years. It was just funny that not one single person in my life remembered them and would look at me like I was crazy when I spoke about them. I was so glad to FINALLY stumble across this movie. I finally got to see it, and while hokey, it was a nice dose of nostalgia too!

...mediocre? ...unconvincing?

I always thought they were among the cooler special effects of this movie. At the time, I was playing a pencil and paper version of DnD and I always thought squirming green vaporous snakes was a good idea for a magic user spell...or perhaps a cleric.

There 're glowing snakes too, but of a different color in " From beyond " 
