Which DVD release is best?

I want to buy this film on DVD and see there are several different releases of it. Is any one version better than another?

Is there a widescreen version?

My dollar dvd is titled "Family Enforcer". It runs 88 min. I liked the movie a lot. A very gritty and bloody Mafia movie. Lots of bullets to the forehead and the movie starts right off with full frontal female nudity.

This film is included in the "Mob Movies" DVD set from St.Clair Vision. I bought it at K-Mart for $9.99.

None of the posts really answers the question of the OP who started the thread and the OP with the follow up question.

Is the version in DVD is of good quality or is it the VHS print?

Also is it widescreen?

The UK dvd looks like a VHS copy that's been copied 20 times and peed on

In fullscreen FYI

Mass genocide is the most exhausting activity one can engage in, next to soccer.

The UK dvd is f-cking sh-t so blurry and terrible sound which makes it difficult to both see or hear anything

The movie has yet to receive its proper due on video anywhere in the world. I'm always on the lookout for a remastered - or at least widescreen - DVD, but none have surfaced. The best version I've found is the FAMILY ENFORCER/MR. SCARFACE double feature DVD that's long out of print, but is probably easy to find cheap. The FAMILY ENFORCER print actually has the original DEATH COLLECTOR title card (which is rare), and although it's full screen (unmatted, meaning you can crop it with your 16:9 TV and it will be properly letterboxed) and it's from an old master tape (looking sharper than VHS, probably closer to 400 lines of resolution vs. the 250 lines VHS gives you) it actually looks kind of good. Kind of.

Grindhouse Releasing had announced that it was coming out remastered through them some years ago, but after Sage Stallone - one of the company's owners - passed away, the title dropped off their "Coming Soon" banner. I think the remaining owner, one Bob Murawski, probably either doesn't like the film or can only get his hands on film elements that are in such bad shape that they'd cost a fortune to clean up. Either way, it looks like Grindhouse won't be doing it.

One more thing: If you're a fan of DEATH COLLECTOR a.k.a. FAMILY ENFORCER, you'll want to get your hands on Grindhouse's Blu-Ray/DVD of MASSACRE MAFIA STYLE, a similarly amazing low budget mob movie that's about as good as DEATH COLLECTOR.
