I've got a VHS version that I'm sure I've had for ten years or more. I'd love to see it come out on dvd as no doubt I'll wear out the tape at some point.

I've had my version since 1975 when I recorded it. Have watched it with my children and now with the grandkids. Bare thin and I certainly would love to have the DVD of this wonderful story and so well done by Richard Chamberlain. The newer version doesn't hold the thrill as this one does. Short and sweet and an asset to my library.

Hi,

same answer to you (somebody else already asked):

try here:
http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00005K8NL/303-1916021-7533836?v=glance&n=284266&s=dvd&v=glance

has German and (original) English language. In PAL-format.

Or the pure Enmglish version:

probably in NTSC-format.

As far as I know this film is only available as a Region 2 DVD. However you can watch it on Amaazon by paying $9.99. At the top of the IMDb page for this movie, to the right is the link to watch it. Good luck. I've also been searching and waiting for this to become available as a Region 1 myself. As Hollywood keeps releasing more and more *beep* on DVD we have to suffer through it to wait for the classics. You used to be able to go to TCM.com to vote for movies to be released on DVD, but they've taken that power away from us as well. TCM just changed their website around and you can no longer vote on movies, at least I can't find the link on there anymore.

The one being sold on Amazon supposedly has pretty poor image quality, judging by some of the feedbacks.
