1970's Black Movies Made in Chicago

Another movie made in Chicago was "The Monkey Hustle" starring Rosalind Cash, Debbie Morgan, and Yapphet Kotto. There are several scenes filmed in the Woodlawn Neighborhood on Chicago's Southside. I think the movie was filmed in 1976.

Monkey Hustle also starred the late and forever great Dolemite himself, Rudy Ray Moore.

Werent scenes from Diana Ross' Mahogany filmed in Chicago?

Yes; Mahogany was filmed in part in Chicago (or at least that's where the story is supposed to begin.)

Bad boys with Sean Penn and Esai Morales was filmed in Chicago too. Not exactly a "Black movie" but still urban.
