Still not available! Despite winning the Palme D'Or in 1975, beating Lenny, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, The Passenger AND The Enigma Of Kaspar Hauser!

The Oscars are so much better than Palme D'Or. In 1975, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest won over Barry Lyndon, Dog Day Afternoon, Jaws, Nashville - 4 out of 5 are in the Top 250! Where's your Enigma Of Kaspar Hauser now, who have seen it, who needs it?

I will second that, it's apparently quite rare; generally you can manage to find a lot of hard-to-film things these days through Googling and the torrents, but even then this is pretty few and far between (hopefully someone in some country who reads this might share a copy online...).

The Palme d'or is almost unbearably better than the Oscars. 1975 was a pretty good year for the Oscars, but overall Cannes has a much better track record of choosing great, important films that stand the test of time when compared to the AMPAS.

Also, I've watched The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser three or four times. It's a great, essential film from one of our greatest living directors.

Also, lol at using the IMDb Top 250 as a barometer of greatness.

I suppose on a clear day you can see the class struggle from here

Aparently 'Chronicle of the Years of Fire' won the Golden Palm because France felt guilty about the whole war thing...
It's available on Youtube with engsubs but pretty bad quality.

You're probably aware by now but this film can be downloaded at worldscinema.org. This site has virtually hundreds of the worlds best movies, and nearly all have operable, updated links.
