Why were so many stars missing?
I saw the thread about Sid James and the reply that he was fed up with the scripts by 1975 (he was starring in 'Bless this House' by then), but what about;
Barbara Windsor?
Jim Dale?
Charles Hawtrey?
Well Charles Hawtrey had been fired after Carry On Abroad and Jim Dale had moved to America after turning down Carry On Up The Jungle in 1970 and hadn't returned to the series.
