Has anyone seen this?

How is it?

Not very good as far as a story, the movie exploited violence and sex and I think it was a half-baked attempt to cash-in on the Godfather successes. Gazara was weak, but was probably the best they could get based on the graphic nature and weak script. The movie blows through a lot of major events, i. e., the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. Linda Blakely and Sylvester Stallone were good, some character actors from the Godfather movies were featured and did a fair job, but there was hardly any suspense, everything was predictable.

Nice synopsis. Thanks.

Susan Blakely. Not Linda.

I've seen it. I thought it was very good. The story was solid and there were several well-known and good actors in this film. I was surprised actually at how big a budget it must have had. Excellent time-period props, cars, costumes etc. It was a good production and something definitely worthy of being on one of the movie channels that shows films from the 1970's and '80's.It was also interesting to see Stallone before his big break.

It was not graphically violent or sexual by today's standards at all! In fact, this is totally suitable for anyone 14 years or older. There was a quick flash of pussy as an actress gets up out of bed, but it is only for 1-2 seconds and was beautiful. Compare that to the multiple graphic penis shots we see today in "mainstream" comedies like Bruno, or the torture violence in a movie like Saw, and you can see how incredibly tame this is by comparison. In fact, the MPAA really needs a "PG-15" rating for films like this. This is a decent movie that really deserves some play on cable tv.

lol i like the sentence "there was a quick flash of pussy". but yeah i caught it on cinemax one time and it had its moments. it was cool to see a young unknown stallone

I thought this film was very good. I liked how gritty and hard-edged it was, with a decidedly harsh and unsentimental evocation of the 20's Probihibition period. Moreover, Ben Gazzara was fine in the lead, with good support from Susan Blakely, Sly Stallone, and Harry Guardino.

I'm a totally bitchin' bio writer from Mars!

This movie is really bad, but comically so. Ben Gazarra over acts enough to make this look like a SNL sketch. It looks like he is opening his eyes wide and jerking his body around because the garbage in his mouth won't let him use his face and restricts his voice.

It clearly plays fast and loose with historical accuracy, but that is nothing new for cheap movies.

As bad as it is though, and it is really bad, it is worth watching for a laugh if you can't sleep one night. This thing is really cheesy.

Not without some good moments but on the whole disappointing. The accuracy to the real life events and people is very tenuous.

its worth watching if your bored on a sunday during the summer. The portrayal of Frank Nitti being the brains and down fall of capone, is pretty stupid in my opinion.
