Boss *beep* censored version

I've downloaded Boss *beep* but this version seems to be cut, because the opening song goes "They call him boss, they call him boss..." and the word *beep* is cut out.

I was wondering, you who have seen the original and the cut version, has anything else been removed besides this opening song's original words?

reply

the poor dvd release from Blax Films contains both the cut title sequence that contains just the words BOSS across the title screen and the omission of the offensive word however the alternate opening can be accessed on the menu screen completely uncut with the opening title and theme song intact. The film is also completely uncut and does not omit any offensive language/violence. This dvd is in very poor quality and was obviously transfered from a very bad VHS copy but this seems to be the only current way of obtaining this film on a region 1 DVD

Thanks, but I was asking - How CUT is the cut version? Is it just the opening that has been cut, or is something else in the movie been removed, too? I'm asking because I don't have the DVD, just some VHSRip version.

reply

Did you even read his post? He said nothin else in the film is cut.

reply

The version I saw has a cut title, reading only "Boss", but has the theme song in tact, with full and clear utterance of the word *beep* as is supposed to be there. I assume it was therefore otherwise uncut.

Moviemaniac-14, would this version you have seen be perchance the VCI released DVD, having only the word "Boss" on the front cover? I'm dying to know, for I can't wait to get my hands on this film, with as intact print as possible! Now I'm wondering which one of the DVD releases is more bang to the buck, the VCI one or (supposedly) tampered and bad quality Blax release.

does the site not let you type *beep* or are you guys putting in the *beep* yourselves because you're lame?

LOL!!! I'm sure I'll get the answer in a few seconds ;)

reply

The one I saw has the cut openning song, but the song is intact during the end credits. It's also not cut during the rest of the movie.

Just watched the VCI release, which as far as I could tell had no cuts. The title song is intact, the on-screen title is intact, and all dialogue is intact. The only place the "offensive" word does not appear is on the outer packaging. It is widescreen, but not restored... a little dark, colors a bit off, but highly watchable.

reply

Woohoo! Thanks mate, you really made my day with this information. VCI has a history of making watchable, not great looking DVD prints, but I can live with that - somehow for me it ruins some of the mood, if the print of some old exploitation flick is too clear and free of scratches. :)

I have seen this version as well and it is intact beginning to end, didn't give the picture quality a second thought, it's just what I'd expect from a movie of this era, perfectly watchable. And the very funky soundtrack, while not the latest super XYZ insideout sound is very listenable.
