Stupidity of parents, ruined this for me!

Despite the beautiful scenery, one dangerous encounter after another with the wildlife, and the total isolation of where they chose to live with two children, where only way in and out was a rare visit from a pilot, and the only way to communicate was by radio, this film totally ticked me off!

Any moronic parents that would subject themselves and their kids to such complete isolation and risks, deserved to be eaten by the wildlife!

After cougar, bear and a wolf pack attacks, the film still has the dad being stupid enough to leave the cabin without his rifle!

A good film for anyone considering living like back-to-the-land/survivalists,how NOT to do it!

If you're talking about when he left to get help for the daughter, he actually leaves with the gun, but when he gets back with the dr he no longer has it, if my memory serves me correctly. but yeah you are totally right the parents are pretty stupid to be so isolated, i can understand wanting to get away from it all but when your nearest neighbour is 45 miles away thats a little too isolated!

I'm wearing an ape suit. That means I don't give a *beep*

Yeah, the father really should have taken the rifle when returning the cougar cubs, he didn't even reach for his knife in that scene. And he went fishing without the rifle later, and got chased away by Three Toe. They should have at least brought a couple handguns along.
