Ha ha! I soo want to see this movie. All I have is the audio clip of this "Hop" song. It's so catchy and funny......

THIS MOVIE IS NOW ON DVD!!!!!
Bought it from Amazon.com a few months ago -- GREAT memories and Gene does a commentary track.

You also should get "The Worlds Greatest Lover" -- another forgotten Gene Wilder Gem.

This is one of those movies that I used to watch as a kid - and even now my mom will just let loose with a line of "Why don't we all driiiiiink some very seeeeexy wine?" In fact, to this day I get called Miss Liar every now and again.

yeah, i can't wait to get this on dvd...my bday's coming up lol. i've seen it on AMC, but it seems like they probably cut some stuff. it was still really good though. very funny. the "hop" song is just too much, and it's catchy too hahaha. and gene manically going..."LIAR!!!" haha. I love the scene where what's her name...Jenny, comes in and meets Sigerson and Orville. And they're sitting there and then Sigerson says to her "LIAR!" and Orville gets like scared and his tea like flies up at him lol

I actually have the Kangaroo Hop as a 7" vinyl single! Never fails to put a silly grin on my face.

I'd completely forgotten the "sexy wine" thing from the opera! I loved that opera scene, especially the overture:

"the chicken was delicious/everyone is dancing/up and down/all around/let's hope we don't get sick!"

You had to hear it sung in full choral voice to get how funny it was, though...

I also loved Leo McKern as Moriarty, with that loud nervous tic. Whenever he went "NGYUK! NGYUK!," I about peed.
