Ok, what exactly happened there?

This is one of my favorite movies of all time! It's the one that cemented Madeline Kahn as my favorite comedic actress (Favorite actor being John Cleese, of course).

There is just one point in the movie that confuses me slightly. When the henchman falls to the stage on the car that he unwisely perched on as he was cutting it down he immediately jumps down when he realizes he missed his target and comes at Jenny with his knife. Suddenly, and for no apparent reason, he winces in pain, cups his groin and hobbles away.

What exactly happened there? One minute he's murderously intent on killing Jenny Hill and the next he's running away in debilitating agony. The closest I can figure he suffered some kind of "nut-shot" on impact and the pain only caught up with him at that moment.

Did I miss something?

That's what I always assumed. Perhaps just bad editing or his bad reaction time as an actor. But, like you, I figured that falling down with the car knocked his nuts and he crumpled in pain when he got up.

he does indeed land on the steering wheel of the car with one specific part of his body. the steering wheel has an upright part which obviously caused some pain, the pause was for comic effect.

Ok, that's what I thought. It was just the pause where he takes a couple of steps, raises his (extremely dull) knife in a threatening manner, and suddenly doubles over in pain that was throwing me off.

Thanks.
