A Great Double Feature

First, Amadeus (1984) and then The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother (1975)

any thoughts?

I guess. I like both flicks, altho Amadeus is a far superior film. And I guess they're both sorta "expose" revisionist-thingies about historical "characters". And they both have some good humor to them.

A Great Quadruple Feature:

The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes (1970)
They Might Be Giants (1971)
The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother (1975)
The Seven-Per-Cent Solution (1976)

I can certainly dig a straightforward Holmes' picture. I'm particularly fond of the Rathbone/Bruce and Cushing/Morell versions of The Hound of the Baskervilles, perhaps because they skirt the fringes of my favorite film genre: horror. But it seems I love "meta" Holmes flicks the best. I like these films for playing around with the idea of who and what Holmes is, what makes him tick... as a "person" and as a cultural icon.

Oh, and here's A Great Double Feature:

A Study in Terror (1965)
Murder By Decree (1979)

Sherlock Holmes (and Dr. Watson!) vs Jack the Ripper!!!
