WHY IS THERE NO DVD?
Warren Oates is one of the greatest american actors of all time, and this is a rarely seen gem that Criterion needs to buy the rights for. Oh yea, Margot Kidder is hotter than a Texas asphalt in this movie

shareI agree, come on Criterion get a hold of this one for a DVD release!
shareWell, I e-mailed criterion and had this on my wish list. They told me this is a title that they would like, but the problem is in getting the rights.
God I hope we get it soon!
this film is all but forgotten which is strange considering the big cast it has. i'd like to see it on dvd for sure.

I second that notion. This film really needs to come out on DVD already; it's a marvelously eccentric and one-of-a-kind seriocomic hoot.
"Warren Oates died for our sins"
get on it, criterian!!!
shareIt's finally coming out sometime this year from Scorpion Releasing; they just announced this great news on their official Facebook page.
I'm a totally bitchin' bio writer from Mars!
Scorpion Releasing have removed any listing for 92 in the Shade in their forthcoming releases section. I've held off for a long time from purchasing a crummy VHS to DVD-R bootleg copy in the hope that this rare cult picture would get an authentic (and digitally restored) DVD/Blu-ray release.
It joins Night of the Juggler and several other quirky Seventies cult movies in that murky no-man's-land of distribution limbo; where you finish up paying over the odds for a bad VHS-sourced pirate DVD copy because you get sick of waiting... and waiting... and waiting...
A proper official release (with decent extras, including the alternate ending) seems as far away as ever.
Scorpion Releasing have just announced on their Facebook page that this film will finally be coming out on DVD in June.
I've been chasing grace/ But grace ain't easy to find
I watched my copy of the Scorpion DVD this week. Absolutely zero extras (save for trailers for other films released by Scorpion), but very fine picture quality.
What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!
