Pat and Vanna are the real winners

Pat Sajak’s salary for hosting Wheel of Fortune is 8 million dollars per year. Vanna White’s salary is 4 million dollars per year. They do about 200 episodes per year so Pat’s salary is about $40,000 per episode and Vanna’s salary is about $20,000 per episode. This means on most episodes Pat and Vanna take home more money than the winning contestant. It’s no wonder they are always smiling.

Good for them. Makes you understand why they will never leave their jobs unless they get the boot.

sounds about right.

The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity.

On the episode shown on March 15, 2014, Pat reported that for the entire season Wheel of Fortune gave a total of 9.2 million dollars in cash and prizes to contestants. Pat’s salary was 8 million dollars so he made almost as much as all the contestants combined. I wonder if he ever feels guilty about that.

Some yrs back one of the tabloids had a story about replacing Vanna.

And they only work a few months out of the year too. As a former contestant, I know of which I speak :---)

reply

And the work isn't exactly taxing. They've got the best jobs!

reply

And they had been doing this since the year I was born: 1983. Isn't their contract almost up?

I remember when the show first came on. I think another host was doing it and he left and Pat took over.

Yes, another host was doing it. Chuck Woolery, but then he left in 1981 and that's when Pat became host.

Pats salary is about $40,000 per episode and Vannas salary is about $20,000 per episode

Take a look at what some TV show actors are paid per episode and you'll see that is a bargain.

Dean: I am wearing sunglasses at night. You know who does that? No-talent douche bags!

reply

Yes, but Pat and Vanna do way too many episodes a year to pay them as much as an actor. I mean some actors do 24 episodes of their show a year.

reply

Vanna has the easiest job in the world: $4 million a year to do basically nothing. Since the board went completely electronic, her job is irrelevant.

I met Vanna White a few years ago at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She is easily one of the nicest and most genuine people that you'll ever meet. She's was so gracious when I spoke to her. She's definitely not one of those celebrities that has let their fame go to their head.
