Mr. Michael Woodman

OMG!!!!! his character was sooo annoying. i am 13 years old and i am in love with oldies tv. and john travolta. i started watching this show when it was still on tvland early this year, i saw aout 3 episodes and then they took it off. only one of them had john :(. anyway, i still remembered the characters and what they looked like when i started 8th grade this year. i had been resening math all day so you could imagine my exitement when 3rd period came around. i gloomily walked into my math class and sat down in the back. i looked up at the math teacher and found myself staring right at an exact clone to woodman on kotter. he sounds the same, acts the same, dresses the same!!! he even told some kid "up your nose with a rubber hose!" after that, i permantly named hiim mr. sweathog (but no one at my school has any idea i meant kotter)and the name really fits him cuz he sweats a lot and after lyk 1/2 an hour at school he has pit stains down o his belt and our school is freezing. just imagine having woodman as your teacher. omg!!! i feel so bad for the sweathogs right now.

Lol is that true??? I have a teacher that looks exactly as mrs. feldman on police academy 4. Lmao!!!

Uncle sandler went to the mall!!

Well, Mr. Woodman was the vice-principal, although he was probably a teacher when he was younger. I think he was grumpy because he had to deal with the Sweathogs and that Kotter drove him nuts when he went there as a student.

I liked Uncle Woody!! Even though he was always mean and grouchy, thats what made him so funny in my book. He was the main nemises on the show. I thought he was pretty likeable.

Mr. Woodman was played by actor John Sylvester White. Woodman reminded me of Abe Beame, the mayor of New York from 1974 to 1977. White passed away in 1988 from pancreatic cancer. He was 68 years old.

Woodman made no secret of his dislike for the Sweathogs. He referred to non-Sweathogs as "real" students.

A New Jersey teacher was fired recently for mocking special education students. It made me think of Woodman. Please click on

I thought the same thing. lol As a kid, I payed no attention to certain actors and were annoyed by some, but now I can see they were very talented and vital parts of the show. Woodman was the perfect straight man for Kotter and The Sweathogs!

Mr Woodman was the typical hated character much like Frank Burns of Mash.

One of my favorite episodes was when Woodman criticizes Kotter's teaching so Kotter tells Woodman why doesn't he try to teach the sweathogs. Woodman does and he turns out to be a terrific teacher.

I liked him I thought he was so funny think he was in every episode
