Just watching this again...

And have to say that the remake bore no comparison at all. This original was about what people might face while trying to rebuild. The death sentence meted out (mistakenly) to one of their number was upsetting. The new series had the "new" government handing out justice, which is not the same as ordinary people trying to form a society.

In my opinion, the original is still eminently watchable. I looked forward to the remake but was really disappointed. Watching it again: the original really is great, with characters who are convincing. Some things just do not need to be remade.
