Seems to be about as funny as ass cancer these days

The last era of SNL I ever watched were the late Will Ferrell/early Bill Hader years, and I've been trying to catch up on the show with highlight clips that pop up in my newsfeed.

All I have to say is...what on EARTH is so funny about any of it? The comedy seems very meme-ish, a problem I'm seeing more with writing these days, where writers are getting more informed by social media and Tik Tok. The audiences also seem to be laughing only because they recognize what the skit or joke is referencing, not because they're actually finding anything funny.
