Is There a Reason Last Night's Show Was a ReRun ?

Maybe they had it all ready and then that pesky email investigation was opened up again, eh?

No, SNL traditionally does about 2-3 weeks on, then is off for 2 weeks. This season because of the elections, they did 4 new shows in a row, one rerun, then a new one next week before the election.

I'd readjust your tin foil hat...it's a little too tight today.

SNL also took the week of the weekend before Halloween in 2012, although they did have a live episode the weekend before in 2008 and 2004. Their Presidential cold opens typically revolve around the debates. I don't remember what the debate schedules were in those years, but I do know that they did not have one this week. Also, they don't usually do more than 4 live shows in a row, and this would have been number 5.

Maybe they felt they could do a better job on the story next weekend, when more information comes out. I wonder if I could do something to make my wife's ex-boss lose her job. If so, she might consider returning to work there...

There is a schedule of when they do live shows. They can't do 25 live shows in a row.

I remember watching the very first Saturday Night Live back in 1975. I remember seeing Gary Busey and John Belushi having a big fake funny fight because Belushi wasn't nominated for the Oscar for Animal House but Busey was for Buddy Holly. The first time I saw The Band was in 1978 and Richard Manuel sang Georgia (on my mind). I don't watch too much anymore. Stopped when the old timers left. Missed the 90s nd most of the 80s and the 2000 and on up. It got funny again for a while so I began watching again... My memory is failing. I don't know ANY names of the not-ready-for-prime-time-players any more
