Swat Season 2

Any idea when the DVD set for season 2 is coming out?

reply

you're guess is as good as mine. it's been 3 years since the first season release, i've been going to the ends of the earth to get the next release. what can we do? any ideas? i'll do anything at this point. good god, i wish they'd release the remaining season, i've long since been desperate for it.

reply

Apparently they didn't make enough money on season 1 to make it profitable to make season 2. I too wish they would bring it out but it seems that season 2 will go the way the season 2 of many other "unprofitable" shows.

reply

how much can it cost to put it on dvd, not much.......they are just a bunch of idiots.......i have the same problem with Emergency only two seasons released....

reply

i can vouche for what you're thinking. i've been waiting patiently for season 2 of S.W.A.T. to come out. i'm a very patient person, but my patience is long since been gone waiting. it's a pity that tri/star columbia can't always finish what they start. i guess just accept that the show is dead and move on.

reply

Season 2 is what I'm waitng for as well. This has my favorite two parter episode, Deadly Tide in it. This is the one with the scuba diving jewel thieves. Lesley Ann Warren looks HOT in that blue wetsuit, and Sal Mineo turns in one of his last roles (and looks pretty hot in his wetsuit too).

reply

Just wanted to remind TRI-STAR---Hey you idiots, Christmas is coming, WHERE THE HELL IS SEASON 2????

For crying out loud the other day I was that store and they even have lame old series like SIMON & SIMON available.

Crying out loud, season 2 was the last season, get it out and your done, besides there were more episodes available on that one and I happen to know they made good profit on SEASON 1.

Get with it you guys !!!

Anybody hear anything about a release date for 2nd season on DVD?

reply

i guess not..what is the delay......????????? that is the problem with releasing tv shows. they stop making the other seasons and leave their fans high and dry.

I found individual episodes and the entire season 2 available on Amazon, but not in DVD form.

reply

Yeah, how annoying is that?? You can get it on Amazon streaming, but not on DVD.

Somebody saiud that Season 2 was a hit in the ratings. It wasn't. Up against Mary Tyler Moore and some pretty strong NBC movies, and with "Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell" leading into it, the best Season 2 could do was a pretty distant also-ran. The show was still ABC's most successful Saturday night show and might have done better on another night (a one-shot Tuesday airing late in the season got the show's best ratings of the year), but I think ABC and new boss Fred Silverman thought it had lost its appeal and dumped it, as Silverman was famed for doing to any show that didn't sustain its hit status to the greatest degree.

I also don't think Season 2 was nearly as good as Season 1. I guess there are only so many plots they can churn out, and the hiring of Gene Levitt as a producer was not a good sign. I

I don't knopw if this is why Season 2 has never come out, but "S.W.A.T." was ahead of its time in showing lots of shootouts and fights ... it was too much for the time and the critics and audiences started drifting against it during the second season. I doubt if I would buy both seasons myself, although Season One was very good.

reply

I would buy Season Two.

A lot of us grew up on these shows. And while they may lack some sophistication, they are a lot more fun than many of the "respected" shows of the time.

Still wish they'd finally release it.

reply

Hey Everyone - Wondering if any of you have downloaded the 2nd season off amazon or another site? Incidentally it will only allow USA residents to do this - at least for now.

reply

I've been watching season 2 on Hulu.com

reply

I also want Season 2 of SWAT on DVD. One more season and it'll be complete.

It can't cost them that much to do it. They already "own" the show and barring any music rights issues all it cost them is the cost of duplication onto DVD and packaging. What a few dollars at most?

MeTV has went national and MeToo plays SWAT early over the weekends. The good news is that they play the end credits without any voice-overs or squeezing the image over to promote something. Really good if you want to record the show, something I'm thinking about doing.

reply

The TV show, "S.W.A.T." only lasted one season. So, there's no season two.

reply

It was a midseason replacement. When the fall season came around,SWAT returned. However,it did poorly, the public turned against the show and it was cancelled. There are 2 seasons, but not 2 full ones.
