i really like the character of Beatrice Mills.
she plays the sweetness and the vulnerability of her character well. i love her scenes with Mary. i'm enjoying this storyline unfold.
Frances Pole is in a long line of character actresses i've loved thru the years such as Marjorie Bennett (LOVE THAT BOB), Gertrude Hoffman (MY LITTLE MARGIE), Doris Packer (DOBIE GILLIS), Harriet McGibbon (BEVERLY HILLBILLIES) and Lu Leonard (JAKE AND THE FATMAN).

Once upon a time, there were elderly character actors on TV -- faces you recognized, even if you didn't know their names.

During the 1960s and '70s, that seemed true. Not any more.
