PHYLLIS ON TV JAN.1 2010

Wonders of all wonders! Phyllis is going to air in it's entirety on American Life Tv. I am so excited, I can't see straight! I can't wait to see Phyllis and Mother Dexter. Enjoy people, enjoy! :-)

Oh man, I'm so jealous. I'm in Canada so I guess I don't get that channel!

Yep! ;-) I've been watching it. I just happened to catch it flipping through channels on New Year's Day and decided to put it on "series record" on my DVR. I feel really bad for Barbara Colby. The show didn't premiere until fall '75, so she didn't even see show, first of all. And second of all, she was already endearing as Phyllis' boss by her 3rd/final episode. She balances Phyllis' flightiness with a calm practical groundedness, but yet she's still very funny. You can tell that she and Cloris Leachman got on very well together. They haven't yet aired episode 4, the first one with Liz Torres in the role, but I'm bummed about Barbara being gone soon. Such a sad abrupt way for someone's life to end, too.

I didn't realize that Mother Dexter didn't appear on the show until after Barbara Colby died. Was that planned? Did they decide - since Barbara died - to not only replace her, but add a little more comic relief and diversion from the awkwardness of her absence by adding a new character?

I'm so excited its on TV again! Although, there are some pretty crazy obvious edits I gotta say. I know Nick @ Nite didn't show the full episodes either, but I think they are editing the episodes from those already syndicated versions!

I searched ALL through my Direct TV channel list and couldn't find it. Hope they'll put it on soon as a free channel, as we can't afford to pay for a channel.
