David loves Ann

This is one of those hard to watch episodes. Some mighty fine acting. At that time, I thought they would've made a great couple. But Schneider was right that David was blowing it. On the other hand, Ann might have simply been using David as her toy to feel young. The girls being up past 2am ,because of their very loud argument, not so good.

IMO, David Kane was controlling and thoroughly annoying, almost as much as Schneider.
I'm glad he was written out of the series.
Besides, the premise of the series was that of an independent divorcee making a life for herself and her two daughters.
What the hell did she need with a boyfriend, especially her divorce lawyer?

True!!!!there was a time or she would end up with Schneider?I don't think David was controlling, so much as really wanting to settle down--he had his career, he wanted the wife. I'm watching "Julie's best friend", right now, and there's a scene where David brings over a bunch of groceries. Ann flipped her lid. He then offered to write a check so that Julie can go to the same school as her friend.he's doing all the things that a husband would do. But Ann really flew off the handle. He's OK to shag with, but not to be incorporated into her family. Ouch. I get where he could be annoying, but Ann was just extremely ungrateful. As a sidenote, I had to take something for my headache after that scene where Julie threw a tantrum when Ann didn't take David's check, LOL!!!!

*Editing to add? I meant to say that back in the day, I thought Ann and Schneider would hook up???

All those question marks are supposed to be smile emojis ;)

David wasn't controlling. He loved Ann. Ann just had a bad attitude toward men; she was a feminist stooge. I loved Richard Mazur and was sorry when he left the show.

Also, he was fat.

Ann and Julie were both psycho. The earlier episodes made me less likely want to watch the series

Many times , I forgot they were acting. They were both manic. The episode where Ann turned 36...egads...

You would have thought she was going to the electric chair the next morning.
