Moses making people intake melted gold?

Man, that is evil equivalent to a character in Games of Thrones putting melted gold upon a would-be king.
In Charlton Heston's dialogue in The Ten Commandments, after the sin, he said "for this you shall drink bitter waters" if I remember well. Exodus account mentions they had to drink water with gold powder which is something completely different than this terrible death. Some researchers have speculated this is a Hebrew code for the consumption Egyptians themselves ate: white monoatomic gold dust.
