I remember watching this show as a kid...but I always thought Ruth and Jim were robots. I recall at times they would break down...maybe i'm thinking of 'The Klinkers' heheh

They were androids, which are basically more advanced robots designed to simulate humans.

Teletubbies (and EVERYTHING on the air now for kids) beats the crap out of caca like The Lost Saucer. Methinks that you have been watching the past through rose colored glasses while smoking some potent grass and consuming very powerful LSD.
